Should 2.6 tons of cocaine be destroyed soon?

Tonight question is: Do you think that the cocaine seized in last Saturday’s major drug bust on the Southern Highway should be destroyed before it turns into flour? 1. Robert says:

Guard it with special troops, and use it as bait to trap some more narco-vermin when they try to steal it.

  2. Earl Grey says:

IT”s EVIDENCE………… WHY SHOULD THEY DESTROY EVIDENCE????????

  3. MADDYVANDIJK/DEREALIST says:

This cocaine should be weighted once again, and destroyed under the watchful eyes of our concerned officials. Weather it is a “small amount” of marijuana enough for a misdemeanour charge or in great quantity. With the war against drugs in Belize, I guess this mission was a success so far.

  4. done says:

If it’s not destroyed what will be done with it? They’ll sell it?

  5. bzeangel says:

If the cocaine is destroyed what evidence will they have against the accused? We need to learn about the special treatment evidence should receive in cases. But then again they are police officers so it doesn’t really matter. Unlike the poor Immigration Officers this one will go under the radar in a week.

  6. rootsman says:

Of course if it is not already flour, after all who can be trusted in the police force I am sure that there are some trustworthy police officers but I don’t know them, I hope too that all this cocaine was tested and found to be cocaine, I sure would not like to be the person in charge of it, think about what would happen if the cartel decided to threaten that individual he might just have to accommodate them.

I am not sure what method is used or would be used in Belize to destroy the drugs but that too must be carefully done otherwise this drug could be reclaimed and reused it’s most likely that the cartel has some type of contingency plan in the event that mistakes like this should happen and if the government of Belize is involved with this then the orders of how to destroy it will be handed down by the cartel so that they can reclaim their goods.

  7. Cutty Ligiyaba says:

Most definately, because it can breed violence and new addicts, thus causing more havoc in the country.

  8. javier solis says:

It seems that there is a UDP conspracy behind every corner. Have we gotten to distrust everyone in the past ten years?

  9. BZNinCALI says:

Absolutely & witnessed by more than just the Minister & police department. We would hate to see the evidence disappear as it has in the pass.

  10. belizeanpride says:

the best way to do it is to call the DEA and the locall law enforcement of belize to be present that the cocaine is being destroyed totally and as it suppose to be done. Once DEA is present to see that it is destroyed then we are sure that the drug was destroyed cause really we don’t trust our local law enforcers now.

  11. ow resident says:

ahi people…. this should be for the GOB to determine. that is why protocols exist that must be followed in this case….

  12. sabuskii says:

i bet the us go want to extradite these drugs too and gob go say yes sir by gally wow.how do u want it sir by quarters? halfs?oz? and broaster go take out his lil scale and start weighing the shisniks

  13. L.A.resident says:

Seeing that we cannot trust ,I would say some of the policeman, this drug should be handover to the DEA. to be destroy, luk man xmas deh rite roun deh ben an everybady weh wah husle

  14. DANIEL says:

This will be history soon. It will soon leave the headlines never to be heard about again. Headline news of crime and corruption is reported only to be over shadowed by the next news worthy crime or scandal. Corruption is becoming the norm in this beautiful country. Its so wrong that the masses just going along like business as usual.

  15. tahash says:

Who will oversee the destruction of the drugs? It seems that with all the corruption with people who are supposed to defend and protect our country and people, those are the very same ones who are compromising our national security. If the drugs are kept as evidence, the police department has a great track record for having evidence disappearing. Although there are a few officers who try to be honest, we just don’t know who to trust. They can claim that the drugs are being destroyed and it could quite be flour being destroyed, while the real drugs is ending up on the streets.

  16. somiah says:

Dont be so naive Belize…. Do you think America is not already involve in this matter? I am sure we already have FBI and all the powers be in Belize and is giving instructions…. The cartel have already figured out how to get their drugs back. The Jewel need our prayers, only God!!

  17. Real says:

Destroy that cocaine and a bunch of people wah get shot up. You tink deh Colombians and Mexicans wah mek unuh duh dat? please. Ih wah tun Juarez out ya. Betta mek wa deal with the scorpion kings.

  18. RadicalBelizean says:

javier solis: Power hungry people will do whatever it takes to regain power even if it makes the country become unstable. Usually PUP don’t condemn these activities, or if they do it is a weak response along the lines of a lame finger pointing exercise for political gains. Sadly people are not able to see through this.

Look at the US: when they were under attack both Parties stood steadfast in their condemnation because these things are not about politics its about the security of the people, and protecting the country these guys supposedly loved. Apparently this is why these men and women gave up their lives for politics. I think not. Well, I think the country wait to see what Mr Barrow and his cabinet actions will be.

  19. bob says:

the police is responsible for many firearms on the street, mine disappeared from their safekeeping in 2006. I say burn it asap before it ends up on the streets of belize, lets face reality these guys they have detained will be free men charges wont stick the people who should uphold the law are currupt.

  20. Earl Grey says:

Burn it UP WIND FROM BELMOPAN…………….

  21. irawsmo says:

What a shame it is to know that our police and army personnel are the prime backbone of the Colombian carte,,,since the are and represent the law..no one will doubt of them,,.amazing corruption..their names must be published..and must be extradited to the US…since the load was US -bound…correct me if I’m wrong…

There must be a selection and cleansing of all those corrupt bastards…and replace men of integrity,,,,

  22. irawsmo says:

is this the Barrow Narco-Amninistration (Carte) …is this what the UDP does for Belize…If you can’t trust those in power (Police & BDF) ..then is there need for the the DEA to intervene .???…

  23. Janice Bremekamp says:

I bet they will use Mr. Dean Barrow for lawyer and the accusers will be freed in no time.
