Two freed after complainant withdraws charges
But two men had charges dismissed in court today. The two, twenty-one year old Keith Middleton and nineteen year old Marlon Foreman, were charged with aggravated assault for an incident on November first, in which three children and two adults were shot at. Magistrate Dorothy Flowers dismissed the charges when one of the adult complainants, nineteen year old Dain Canto testified that he does not want any further court action and the other, twenty year old Clifton Flores, did not appear.
At the time of the incident, Flores, a construction worker, was driving on Jane Usher Boulevard with Canto beside him and three children: Jamal Vasquez, Mortisha Alvarez and Triysha Ciego in the back seat. Flores reported to police that when he reached the corner of Jane Usher Boulevard and Ground Dove Street, three masked men jumped over a fence, onto the street and one fired five shots in their direction. The bullets damaged the driver’s side door, the front bumper, and punctured the left front tire. Only Middleton and Foreman were charged. The third suspect was never arrested.
