Will there be Moya for Mesop in the next General Elections?

During the ceremony at the Michael Finnegan Market, the minister made it very clear that he was quite pleased with the Belize City Mayor. A Moya move on the Mesopotamia division has always been rumored. News Five asked Area Representative for Mesopotamia Michael Finnegan and Mayor Moya about a possible Moya for Mesop candidacy.

“I want to thank each and every one of you for coming out here today and for the support you have given to the mayor and to the project. Madam Mayor I want to say finally that I love you.”

“You pledged your love for Miss Moya. Do you think at some point when you retire you would pass the baton to her for Mesop?”

Michael Finnegan

“It is not for me to decide who I will decide to pass the baton to. That will be decided by the people who reside in the Mesopotamia Division.”

“But if she does decide to run, will she have your endorsement?”

Michael Finnegan

“Well I like Miss Moya and everybody know I like Miss Moya. But that is not for me, that is for the people who reside in the area.”

“Minister Finnegan has great confidence and love for you. When it comes to his retirement, are you interested in seeking Mesop?

“Ahm, no doubt it’s an area that I really grew up in as a child. When I was born, I know George Street isn’t a part of Mesopotamia, but that is where I lived as a little girl on George Street. And then we moved over and I went to St. Ignatius Primary School. I spent all my life attended areas and facilities there including St. Ignatius church, which I continue to attend. And so the area is an area that is very special to me. And so if and when the time comes, if the opportunity arise, it is definitely something I wouldn’t mind looking at.”
