Taxi driver jacked at gunpoint, escaped unharmed

Any taxi driver who works especially late in the night will tell you that they are very discriminate when choosing passengers. But over the weekend, fifty-four Michael Hemmans erred in judgment and as a result was jacked. The taxi-driver reported to police that just after three o’clock on Saturday morning he was parked at the Princess Hotel when he was hired by a male person who wanted to go to Banak Street. However, not long after taking off, the passenger put a handgun to the driver’s neck and ordered him to drive to Sarstoon Street. The robber demanded money and Hemmans handed over a hundred dollars in cash, but then managed to push the culprit out of the vehicle and sped off. Hemmans says the robber fired four shots at him, shattering the right side glass of his Ford Escort. Police are seeking the suspect.
