Officer in Charge of Burrell Boom jailed for aggravated assault

The Officer in Charge of the Burrell Boom police was today criminally charged for drawing his service weapon on a village resident. Corporal Emilio Patt, who has ten years on the force, appeared before Magistrate Kayla Teck today to be arraigned for Aggravated Assault with a Dangerous Weapon. The alleged assault went down outside a Cool Spot night club in Burrell Boom on November twentieth. Omar Kerr was hanging out with two friends, who began provoking the officer. He ignored the taunting until the men went too far and told him Kerr was having an affair with his wife. That sent the officer into a rage and drew his nine millimeter revolver and pointed it at Kerr’s face. Kerr told the court that he feared for his life and didn’t report the incident until Sunday evening at the Ladyville Police Station. Patt pleaded not guilty and was remanded to the Central Prison until December twenty-second.

Was Officer Patt at work at the time or just out drinking? He should have controlled his temper but the idiots taunting him should be grateful this did not end in bloodshed. Kerr needs some common sense & better friends, Belize is a bloody powder keg & these drunk @$$holes are playing with matches. Let the ,man go home to his wife, suspend him for a week & call it a day.

Not sure about this one but I am thinking that the officer was also hanging out with these guys and drinking with them, I doubt that he was on duty since Burrell Boom does not usually have on duty officers at these little bars unless it’s a big advertised function, he might have just been there to show his presence for free drinks as these police officers do it all the time even in their uniforms I know this for a fact as I was asked to buy them drinks several times while they are on duty in their uniforms mixed the two together and you can have a disaster an armed policeman who already thinks that he is the law along with alcohol.

mein this should not even be on hear. i believe if alcohol was at play on both side … then the police officer should be release…. although he should have just took a walk… but these ediats taut the man ….why would you talk about the mans wife you were surely looking for trouble……next time officer take you kool and go home…once you are not on duty

  5. Kenzie says:

Patt is a REGULAR drinking drunken police officer that is always trying to show his power when under the influence. Why would an off duty officer drinking, walk around with a loaded gun, he is begging for trouble. He needs to be kicked off the force he is another officer that will continue to bring shame to the police department, he needs to go, no one likes him in Boom and he is not even the village officer he only lives there.

  6. CAMILLION says:

ok I have read your negative and positive comments which I must say is easier to criticise when it is not you. but I must say that the important question has been missed and I will put it in caps. “WHAT WOULD YOU HAVE DONE IF IT WAS YOU BEING TAUNTED CONCERNING YOUR SPOUSE????”

  7. rootsman says:

As a police officer you should do the right thing and I am sure that the right thing is not to pull your service revolver after all Belize already have enough of this type of behavior we should not have to expect it from a police officer.

Police officers should be held at a much higher standard than private citizens even if they are off duty.

  8. Common Sense says:

CAMILLION – I take your point.

Was brought up with the saying “sticks and stones may break my bones, words will never hurt me”. Childish? yes, but true. Words are harsh, but enough to provoke pulling a gun on someone?

Easy with hindsight, but easy to turn around and walk away…unless he was fueled by alcohol induced rage?

Problem with society today – just as easy to pull a gun as it is to turn around and walk away. As a Babylon, he should of known better and deserves everything that he gets.

    Sallam.

  9. Islander says:

Pity the officer did not pull the trigger, and teach this clowns a lesson in common sense and respect.

  10. Mammy's little Angel says:

hey we all need to stop think like that you kow we need to look at things from both side. He was been provoked and no one now a days like anyone to tell them anything about their man/woman, husmband/wives or even theis sweethearts lol so to speak. so they have had said somthing else more hutfult to him than just what they said he told him. I know MR. Pat ans i really don’t know him as those trouble type he’s a real coo person ans surely don’t deserved something like this. DPP you need to look into this matter very seriously. I know there are crucked cops out hee but Mr. Pat is not one of them.

Guess the man is not really sure if his wife is faithful or not. If you are secure in your marriage, this type of thing is easy to ignore.

  12. turbelizean says:

Omar Kerr is a liar ( I know him on a personal level, he is also a con-artist and tries to swindle older women out of their money, this man would lie his way out of any situation.) He was sleeping with the officers wife and when the officer found out he was upset, more so because he was drinking and his heightened sense of drinking that night may have caused him to react not the was he usually would.

  13. turbelizean says:

Check your records Belize and find out why Omar is in your country when he used to live in Florida.
    He WAS a U.S. Citizen.
