Corporal Emelio Patt charged with Aggravated Assault
On Wednesday night, we reported that the former Officer in Charge of Burrell Boom police, Corporal Emelio Patt was charged with Aggravated Assault with a Dangerous Weapon for allegedly drawing his gun at villager, Omar Kerr. Patt claimed he was provoked, but today Kerr told his side of the story and says that’s not so. The twenty-seven year old Boom resident claims that on November twentieth, they were near Tony’s Cool Spot where they saw Patt and another officer drinking outside. According to Kerr, they were refueling their vehicle when Patt came over and slammed the door on his cousin’s hand. Patt then allegedly grabbed Kerr by his shirt, put the nine millimeter service revolver to his head and told him “Ah hear yoh di mess wid mi wife”. Kerr says Patt pulled the trigger, but the gun snapped and another officer took the weapon away while Kerr and his cousins took off. The men then headed to the Queen Street Police Station and made a report to police top brass. While at the station, the COMPOL reportedly gave orders to the Ladyville Police for Patt to be arrested, but instead he was taken home to cool off. Kerr says he and the officer had no problems before that night.
Another police officer out of order, hope they can use him as an example to help clean the force up, this kind of news is not new on this one though, I have heard all kinds on him before including drugs, brutality and robbery make one wonder how they survive in the force for so long without being caught as if they are being supported in their behavior, the public always seems to know the actions of these cops wonder how their superiors don’t know or seems to care.
Let’s hope he will learn what it feels like to be on the other side of the law only this time without the license and firepower to do as you please.
