Police seek men who broke into East Collet Canal Apartment

And in the city Police are investigating a report filed by a thirty year old woman who claims she was awaken from her sleep by two men looking for her common-law-husband. The woman, Maria Teresa Lara, resides at East Collet Canal and reported to the police that just after noon on Wednesday, three men entered her yard, two who kicked open the wooden door to her apartment. After gaining entrance to the place the duo, recognised as Calvin Bailey and Jermaine Jex, inquired about her common-law-husband and proceeded to search her apartment. The men left when they didn’t find the person they were looking for. Outside they were joined by a third man who is described only as a Chinese from Mile eight on the Western Highway. The trio then drove away in a white vehicle.

And in Dangriga, police have Noah Baver in custody for crashing into a police D-MAX pickup. The incident occurred at two o’clock on Wednesday morning on Jetty Road in Dangriga where police detected Baver behind the steering wheel of a parked brown colour Isuzu trooper. When Police drove up to the vehicle, Baver took off in high speed crashing into the right side of the police vehicle. According to police, Baver reversed and pulled out a chrome object and they responded by opening fire over his head. This did not stop Baver who drove off in a huff heading towards Belmopan. He was subsequently apprehended and the Isuzu trooper impounded. Baver is facing charges of Damage to Property.

Police may not have found much in the Isuzu Trooper, but when following up on a tip, in a search of the home of fifty-five year old George Gomez in Benque Viejo del Carmen, they found a point three fifty-seven magnum revolver and ammunition. In keeping with the law, police arrested the occupants of the house comprising the members of the Gomez family including George, Mercedes, Sifried and Gabino who have all been charged with Possession of a Prohibited Firearm and Ammunition and Possession of Ammunition without a License.
