Villagers willing to take Anti-Castro sentiments to National Assembly

And according to Pollard, their plight doesn’t end with today’s press conference. He says they will protest and are willing to go as far as the National Assembly.

Oscar Pollard Sr.

“In respect to the recall, as far as my knowledge goes the recall will take place after the next general election. It is not into effect. But the constitution of Belize, this is in effect, the criminal code is in effect. Apply it please. Apply it. If this is being applied then Mister Castro should be moved entirely from the constituency immediately.  The constitution clearly states that when a person in public office brings their integrity into question, there is no question whether or not you should be there or not, you should be removed immediately; that’s the constitution.  The people of the Belize Rural North deserve a representation that is not in question of any criminal activity or behavior. We need to have somebody trustworthy and I’m not saying there will Jesus Christ but close to that because man are like the image and likeness of the almighty, which means we are close but not as he is.  We have planned to have a bigger group of people probably going to the house to voice our concern in regards to this situation because this is a hurtful situation at this point in time to know that we are there, haven’t gotten any explanation or anything from anybody meaning the present government, the prime minister, under who’s portfolio mister Castro falls because he is the daddy for his ministers. We will definitely launch a bigger protest. This is the start.  Everybody out there is hearing about this minister in Belize and if nothing is done, they will automatically look on us in the Belize Rural North as a set of fools. Look pan dehn, set ah fools, dehn minister do dis, do dat and dehn sit down up inna dehn corner, talk and no action. Well we are not here for talk, we are here for action.”

Way to go people get them out of there if they don’t know how to be honest and if they bring any type of intimidation tactics that too is illegal and those responsible will also have to go. United we stand, divided we fall. High 5 to channel 5 for allowing the people to make their voices heard.

    Well said…Mr. Pollard.

Question. As the PUP said in their release, didn’t Castro do something very, very illegal? Why is no one else making such a big deal of this. If the man is a CRIMINAL then he should GO TO JAIL. This probably won’t happen because is is Belize, after all (sigh). Channel 5, please investigate this man thoroughly, rumors of much more substance (you know what I’m talking about *wink wink*) have been circulating around the country (and international Belizean community) for weeks. If he indeed cheated a woman out of $50,000 he needs to be tried. Did he take the money for himself? Isn’t that embezzlement? Lord, I swear we are looking like Haiti, North Korea, or those horribly corrupt African countries with an untouchable elite class, and we really in bad shape if Edmund Castro is one of our “elites.”

lena gial can you explain what BMDC is and what their functions are so the rest of us will know, sounds like you have some valid concerns.

lENAGAIL can you write your comment in English please.

  7. interpreter says:

@ belizeangypsy, I think this is what lenagial is saying…

well ,well these ministers are getting rich but then you see Moya. Take Monetro, having BMDC stealing from poor importers so he (Castro?) will too. I want to see whose next; what PM will do about BMDC. Then they will come with stories that they inherit it (the stolen money); they bloody well know that it’s illegal so I will see how they will justify stealing what is not for them. PM you will soon have to use a mask …too much corruption, election is near but judgment by we the people of Belize is now. We want answers and action before you look worst.

@lena gial, correct me if I’m wrong.
