Price of diesel goes up again
The prices of petroleum have continued to rise steadily since 2008. Already since the beginning of December, the prices of regular, premium and diesel have gone up. On Tuesday night, the price of diesel went up again, from nine dollars and ten cents to nine dollars and nineteen cents. The prices of fuel continue to skyrocket, despite Prime Minister Dean Barrow’s promise that his government would seriously reconsider the one dollars tax increase if the price went over the eight dollar mark. This was after he said that they would consider the tax if prices reached seven dollars a gallon. The additional tax was imposed to generate funds to bridge the budget deficit.
” Prime Minister Dean Barrow’s promise ”
Wishful thinking!!!
I like how the Guatemalans are handling the high fuel prices here.I am speaking about the Guatemalan TAXI DRIVERS that the Town board has given license to.See… they just fill their tanks in Mechor, they come here to Cayo district to run Taxi, much cheaper that we the !@#$%^&* in Cayo can do, they go back to Melchor and spend the BZ dollar there in Melchor!!!
Vote UDP!! Belice es nuestro!!!
WHY DON’T WE HAVE AN OIL REFINERY IN BELIZE?????????????
We could make our own gasoline and other petroleum products….. keeping prices in check.
Why dont belzeans start a revolution to remove dictators, communist ,and criminals with a lawdegree in power?oil revenues is making rich politicians, and family members, thats the reality in belize.recently the government got millions of dollars in loan, and i knew they will start to raise taxes on everything so belizeans can pay back the 30 million dollar loan, the other million loan to fix streets,
IT would be so nice to see more cane farmers growing BIO diesel along with vegetables then they could really turn the corner on being diverse and not dependent on only cane, PLUS Diesel IS burned all year long!!!
Its already expensive to Drive now it wa be more expensive to ride bus. dem di find all kind a way mek the poor people dem feel.
El Che, I think you got it wrong. Revolutions in a democratic country does not remove dictators, communists, et al. but instates them. Is that what you really want for Belize? What we have is unfettered capitalism. We need regulation, oversight and level-headed democratic leaders. Organizing a revolution is not the answer. Make democracy work.
ok let’s vote for barrow again??????????? maybe that can make a big difference. He promised too much and i don’ see much difference.
This is not a political decision. The Prime Minister Barrow and the UDP government negotiates with the oil importers to obtain the least possible price for the Belizeans. Selling oil is a business and a profit margin is included. Those who advocate violence and blame the government are ignorant about the laws of supply and demand.
