SMART Phone customers win big
It’s a time for giving…and corporate citizen SMART, stepped up its Christmas promotions big time today. One customer got lucky and went home with big bucks while another won a cell and a one year package. According to SMART, there are also offering great deals for the holidays. News Five’s Delahnie Bain found out who are today’s winners.

It’s going to be bright Christmas for the lucky winners in Smart’s promotional raffles, which ended with a bang today. The first was Augustin Chuc from San Miguel village, who won a free phone in the showroom draw.

“We had, over the past two weeks, raffles in each of our showrooms throughout the country where customers at the showroom were able to win a free phone. Today we brought all those raffle tickets to the headquarters where one lucky customer was able to win a phone and a one year package, which is our flex junior plan. So they will be enjoying that for one year. As part of our Christmas promotion, customers who spent ten dollars received a raffle ticket. So for every ten dollars they got a raffle ticket and they entered that into the showroom draw.”
And they saved the best for last. After giving five thousand dollars a month since September, today was the mega raffle for ten grand.

“We had our mega raffle and as your viewers know we had from September, raffles each month and for December we just finished raffling the ten thousand dollar prize which was won by Eugenio Rodriguez from the Cayo District. So that was the culmination of our mega raffle draw as well. The numbers are pooled by our sales system. So any time for instance we set it for thirty dollars worth of service and once a person talks for that or purchases bundles or whatever for that amount, the system automatically enters that number into the pool and the auditors then draw from that pool, randomly selecting the winners.”
And if weren’t lucky in the raffles, there are enough deals to go around, especially for last minute gift shopping.

“We have some really great phones. We have the blackberry pearl flip on specials, we have some Samsung phones and so on at all our showrooms. The showrooms are having extended opening hours; they are open until six in the evening. Tomorrow, Christmas eve, they will be open until three to give last minute shoppers the opportunity to come in and purchase phones. And like I said, all the phones on promotion come with different levels of credit. We also have phones on really good promotions, phones starting at ninety dollars with thirty dollars credit free and we’re also starting today a new promotion where if you talk for five minutes of any kind of calls, you will get fifty percent discount on international calls for the rest of the day.”
