Woman pleads not guilty in he said, she said case

A case of he said, she said has landed before the courts. Fifty year old Bernard Bowen is accusing thirty-three year old Aloma Pike of robbery, while she is claiming Bowen made a false report against her. According to Pike, Bowen refused to pay her twenty dollars as agreed for her sexual favours and so she took one hundred dollars from him and ran. Pike claims she threw back eighty dollars at him when she realised she had five twenty-dollar bills. But Bowen’s report of the incident was quiet different. He claims that on June twenty-sixth he was walking on Glenn Street when he met Pike by an alley. Bowen says Pike asked him for a light and as he reached into his pocket for his lighter, she pointed a sharp object to his throat and demanded money. According to Bowen, Pike then reached into his pocket and took one hundred dollars and ran. Bowen’s story coincided with Pike’s that she threw eighty dollars back and then disappeared through an alley on Orange Street. This morning Pike pleaded not guilty to a charge of Robbery when she appeared in Magistrates’ Court. She was offered bail of five thousand dollars and her case was adjourned until July thirty-first.
