From A.C.B. to COLA?

It started as the Committee to Oust Michael Ashcroft and following a demonstration of a few hundred to test their muscle, COLA has evolved into Citizens Organized for Liberty through Action. At a meeting this weekend the organisation elected former Prison Superintendent Bernard Adolphus as President. He is joined by six others, who will serve in the executive including union leader, Elena Smith as Vice President. So what’s next for COLA? There is speculation that the organisation is well on its way to replace the Association of Concerned Belizeans, A.C.B., since most of its leaders are now comfortably on government’s payroll.
