Seventy-six year old missionary dies in freak accident

A freak accident in the Toledo District has claimed the life of an elderly woman; the victim, seventy-six year old U.S. citizen Carolyn Albridge of Georgia, U.S.A. Police say around nine this morning Albridge was being driven back to Cuxlin (CUSHLIN) Ha Resort, two miles off the main Southern Highway on the Puppet (Papi) Show Road, near the Eldridgeville junction. Behind the wheel of the brown Cherokee SUV was her son, fifty-four year old Mike Rotliff. The mother and son were doing some work at the Forest Home Methodist School in Toledo and were heading back to the resort to pick up some tools they had left behind.

Rotliff rushed in for the tools, but apparently parked the vehicle on a slope and forgot to apply the parked brake. When Albridge got out of the vehicle to stretch her legs, she suddenly saw the car rolling back and became trapped inside when she tried to stop the vehicle. The SUV plunged some twenty-five feet deep into the Jacinto Creek. A massive five-hour search by divers from TIDE this afternoon turned up her lifeless body. According to Inspector Andres Makin, of the Punta Gorda police station, Albridge arrived in Punta Gorda Town only yesterday. She was part of a missionary team doing humanitarian work in the area.
