Corozal man gets 6 years after being busted with 89lbs of cannabis

A Corozal man learned his fate in the Chief Magistrates’ Court this morning after he was busted along with two family members and a friend with eighty-nine pounds of marijuana on December seventeenth. Lionel Tillett took responsibility for the drugs and today he was sentenced to three years in prison. Tillett was also fined ten thousand dollars, which was to be paid forthwith but he couldn’t pay, which means he will spend an additional three years behind bars. And it doesn’t end there. A forfeiting order for his vehicle, which the drugs were found in, is scheduled for next Tuesday when Tillett must convince the court that he did not purchase the Wagoneer with proceeds from drug related activity. If he can’t do that, the vehicle will be confiscated. Tillett’s sister fifty-one year old Joan Tillett, her daughter twenty-seven year old Crissie Tillett and thirty-three year-old Shane Morgan were with him when police searched the Wagoneer at the Burrell Boom junction. They were also charged, but were freed once he pleaded guilty.

Tourists are not available to come, the US is double dipping home foreclosures are up and there is no or little new construction who wants to build when you can steal a second hand house at a fraction of the cost of building. Now with gas prices going up there goes any extra money for travel.
Tourists do not like shadows you Know Beggars that hang on them like they have to pay this parasite to be free of guilt. If they don’t pay they get robbed later. This news gets around and people read and tire and BLOG about the harassment of tourists in Belize.

I have vacationed in Boom, I used to hang out in Boom, Doublehead Cabbage, Willows Bank, Rancho Dolores, Lemonal & the neighboring villages when we had to take a second ferry at Doublehead Cabbage, as a Belizean, I do not refer to my people as “trash”. Every community has its “Idiots” & we are always glad to see them relocate even it means prison. I stand by that….
