After failed rape attempt, a tour guide faces two charges

In the courts, a twenty-one year old Belize City tour guide who allegedly preyed on a sixteen year old student was arraigned today. The charges relate to an incident on the night of December twenty-seventh when Edward Lizama allegedly attacked the young girl near the Cumberbatch Field in the Yarborough area. The minor claims Lizama grabbed her by the blouse and attempted to drag her into a dark area of the street. But she didn’t go without a fight and screamed for help until neighbors heard her cry and came to her rescue. During the struggle, the teen was choked and bitten twice; once on the cheek and again on her hand. Since it is a sensitive case, Lizama was arraigned en camera on charges of Aggravated Assault of an Indecent Nature and Harm. He was released on bail of four thousand dollars and is due back in court on January twenty-eighth, 2011. Lizama was also expected to be charged for an alleged arson, but that matter didn’t come up today.
Based on the charges, the man is a danger to the community. The bail is WAY too low. Who will be his next victim?
I bet if he had stolen 22 empty bottles he would be convicted and sentenced to 6 yrs prison.
Our judicial system continues to be a joke hence the reason crimes in the Jewel will continue to increase.Can you imagine five murders in a weekend.Then we wonder why Tourism is declining.Get the F out of here.
Where did our Magistrates go to law school? He is obviously a danger so why even offer bail? Pull your geads out of you know where, start doing whats right or this vicious cycle of violence will Never End

Considering the volume of sex crimes in the jewel, offering bail to a violent (biting the victim) sex predator eventhough the rape attempt was foiled due to interception of citizens instead of police appears to be POOR JUDGEMENT. This sex predator is clearly a RISK to the community and the poor girl who initially escaped being raped.
This disease animal was legally ejected back into the same neighbourhood by the justice system on bail, shame, shame on Belize again.
The court plays such a great part into the victimization of the innocent in Belize, for the GOB its foreplay. Women and children are not safe in the city, and when they scream bloody rape, their justice system victimized them once again by raping them over and over again.
If the victim/daughter was of Flowers, or Banner this disease animal would be packed and shackled off to Hattieville.
