Farmer busted for traffic violations, attempting to bribe cop
A cane farmer charged with traffic violations now faces charges of attempted bribery. On Wednesday, police were on a routine patrol in the Caledonia Village when they stopped thirty-nine year old George Allen Junior. The officers noticed that the San Victor cane farmer did not have a driver’s license and the insurance on his Toyota pickup had expired and so they detained him. Allen was later charged him with Driving Without a Valid Driver’s License, Driving an Unlicensed Motor Vehicle and Driving a Vehicle not Covered by Third Party Risk Insurance. Instead of letting the matter take its course through the justice system, the police officer who arrested Allen reported that the day following the incident the farmer came to the Caledonia Substation and asked him to withdraw the charges. Along with the request, Allen placed three fifty-dollar bills before the officer. The cop didn’t budge and promptly took Allen into custody and charged him with Attempted Bribery.
