Students urged to attend educational summer camp
Every year students across the country look forward to the two-month summer holiday so they can kickback, relax and take part in some fun activities. But for the fifth time, camp director Peter Lacey is urging children and parents alike to set aside a portion of the vacation to get a head start on the upcoming school year.
Peter Lacey, Camp Director
“The summer programme will begin on the thirtieth of June and it runs until the eighth of August at Saint Ignatius Primary School and the cost of the programme is sixty dollars. It’s a reading and mathematics summer programme and for the younger kids—for standard one and two—we also include phonics. In the fourth week of the programme we will be having environmental education week and that is where we would have different presentations from different environmental organisations who would come in and they would give environmental presentations.”

“Who is this camp for?”
“It is for infant two students to standard five students going into standard one to six, thus the name pre standard one to six. We’ve given out flyers to each of those classes from infant two to standard five of several primary schools.”
“Today, Tuesday, is the last day that you can do pre-registration. However, the final day to register fort he class in standard one and standard two is Thursday, June twenty-sixth 2008. Standard four is Friday, June twenty-seventh 2008 and standard five and six are Saturday, June twenty-eighth 2008. All of these dates that I have given, the registration will take place at St. Ignatius Parish Hall, that’s right in front of the church.”
