Men charged 3 times for Randy Coye’s murder

Brandon Smith

Once, twice, and now for the third time, Brandon Smith and Edwin Flowers are facing charges for Randy Coye’s murder. Smith and Flowers were initially charged along with Leon Gray, Deshawn Mena and Kenroy Humes in October 2009, but they were all released in July 2010 by Chief Magistrate Margaret McKenzie. A week later, all five were hauled back to court to be recharged and this time Smith and Flowers were freed yet again for lack of evidence while the other three were committed to stand trial. But the Director of Public Prosecutions, Cheryl-Lynn Vidal, appealed that decision and Supreme Court Judge Troadio Gonzalez ruled on December tenth that there is sufficient evidence to commit Smith and Flowers to stand trial.

They were arrested for the third time on the same charge and on the strength of a committal warrant issued by Justice Gonzalez, they were taken directly to jail. And so, it goes back to where it started and five men are on remand at the Central Prison for the homicide. All except Flowers are charged with Murder. But Flowers is charged with the rest of the group for Conspiracy to Commit Murder and he faces an additional offence of Abetment to Commit Murder. On the night of October second, 2009 Coye was brutally beaten to death with a headstone at the Lord Ridge Cemetery.

Here is something I would really like and would have lots of respect for Channel 5; if they investigated this matter as was investigated by Lionel Gomez and investigator in El Salvador and brought to light in an episode of Ross Kemp On Gang – El Salvador that basically the reason our crime situation is out of control is for a reason; the real criminals are powerful people in our society and they don’t wear baggy pants and tattoos and do ride by shootings…they wear suites and neckties. Google Ross Kemp on Gangs El Salvador (you think Belize is violent, we are playhouse compared to the violence that exist in El Salvador).
