P.U.P. endorses Arthur Saldivar as Rural North candidate
The machineries of the both major political parties were in full gear over the past weekend. The opposition People’s United Party held two conventions; both were uncontested. In the Belize Rural North, after complaints by aspirant Jerome Wade that he was boxed out of the convention, Attorney Arthur Saldivar was endorsed as the candidate to take on area representative UDP’s Edmund “Clear the Land” Castro, who late last year was removed from Cabinet. Scotland Halfmoon was the venue of the P.U.P.’s Convention to endorse attorney Arthur Saldivar as its candidate for the many villages of Belize Rural North.
After Saldivar signed on the dotted line to accept his candidacy, former Prime Minister Said Musa entered the grounds and gave his support.

“To endorse Arthur Saldivar, the young man that has been projected as the future of People’s United Party. Arthur is a symbol of that future, he is one member of that future. Some of us they call old P.U.P. and I also see many older folks here today as well, but I’m also happy to see so many young people because it shows that the P.U.P. is on the move.”

And with additional support from other party members, Saldivar took the podium and spoke of the social ills within society that need to be amended.

“We have suffered greatly because we have not been getting representation, greatly because the man who said he was going to clear the land certainly cleared it but only for his own benefit, not for yours. For sixty-five percent of our population under the age of eighteen and forty, there are no jobs, there is no employment, young people have no hope under this present government. Last year two hundred and sixty parents cried. Two hundred and sixty parents cried because their children die violently on the streets of Belize—two hundred and sixty parents. Think about that. Look at your child, the child that you bore, the child that you gave life to, the child that you love who is here with you right now and just imagine the pain of that loss because I don’t forget it. I think about it everyday.”

Congratulations Mr. Saldivar, I love to see the youngsters get involved but let’s talk. Did you really offer to pay the other nuisance to go away? If you did, that is not a good start, you have enough brain matter to compete on a higher level & not end up with the stench of gutter politics all over you. Young people’s idealism can balance out the ruthlessness & corruption that seems to come with having a job as a Politician. However, I do not feel that we need another attorney in Government & while you & your partner have done an excellent job of representing your clients, some of your clients were the ones who brought tears to those 260 parents eyes.
Please explain to the people of Belize what you are bringing to the table to turn the violence around. We don’t like them but we will get over the mosquito bites, those flying bullets are another matter. You do look good in that white shirt & suit.

Saldivar is a fake and his appointment was done in a most notorious and scam filled manner. Criminal charges needs to be filed against these ppl and should inclue Max Samuels.
Arthur; was it not you and Dicky that defended most of those accused crimminals, some of whom caused those mothers to cry? Fulbright scolar or not people here at the base don’t think it was very BRIGHT on your part to have the likes of Dicky Bradley endorsing you especially when the talk of crimminals and their activities was fresh off your breath. Two degrees for the price of one ??
