Belize Farm Center payroll jacked by gunman
The Belize Farm Centre on North Front Street in Belize City was the target of an armed hold-up around eleven this morning. While the lone gunman didn’t hurt anyone, he did fire a shot which struck the ceiling. The incident has left employees and customers terrified and the manager trying to figure out how he will handle future payrolls. While Personnel Manager Andrew Cain, did not reveal how much money was taken, he did explain how the heist was carried out.
Andrew Cain, Personnel Manager
“I was upstairs and I heard a loud bang. After hearing the bang I went downstairs to investigate what conspired. Upon coming downstairs I found that there was a robbery that had just occurred. The store was in disarray of course, the customers were milling around. Everybody was confused. What happened is that he asked for the manager of the store and apparently he came several times and he was quite insistent. The last time he came in, however, he was successful. The manager was in and so he went to the little room where they were counting up and I think he went with the payroll as well. He was just plain face, no mask or anything.”

“So have you all seen him before, can you all identify him?”
Andrew Cain
“There are people that can identify him if they see him again but I was not around at the time, I was upstairs so I don’t know for sure. The staff can. Members of staff can identify him.”
Cain said management has questioned some members of staff in the belief that it could have been an inside job. He added that the company will enhance their security system as of this weekend.
