Arson victim wants charges withdrawn against pregnant girlfriend
We reported on Monday on the lover’s quarrel that ended up in a suspected arson. Well, today a twenty-two year old Belize City woman stands charged for the arson. But at court, Deshon Rowland, who lost everything in the blaze, decided to withdraw the charge against his girlfriend, Keisha Banner. Rowland says it’s because Banner is three months pregnant and he doesn’t want her to suffer in prison. Banner, however, was still read a charge of Arson because the matter has to be processed through the DPP’s office before a withdrawal can take place. Meanwhile, no plea was taken from Banner and her case was adjourned until April seventh. She was offered bail of five thousand dollars which she met by noon. Banner and Rowland got into an argument on Sunday night after she cursed at him during a card game. Rowland says he headed down the street to go “cool off” and minutes later Banner allegedly rode by announcing that she had set the house on fire. By the time Rowland and the Fire Department got there, the house was engulfed in flames and it was too late to save anything. The loss is estimated at around twenty thousand dollars.

A match made in heaven if heaven includes cussing each o out & setting fires but into which no child should be brought. Keep her crazy behind in jail, she could have burnt down the neighborhood because she failed to control her anger. He does not have the option to drop arson charges, that is a crime against the people & the fire truck(s) that came are taxpayer resources that had to be used because of their foolishness & her criminal act.
I’m being hard on you Keisha because our children already face an uphill battle with all the violence in our streets & your behavior tells us clearly that you are not ready to be anyone’s mother. Our sons need women they can look up to & our daughters need good women role models. We cannot sterilize you but what you did was beyond ignorant & if you need to be on medication, get the help you need & revisit parenting later but we cannot breed another generation of lunatics with no conscience.
Is it me or is the crazies going around? It seems that there is just a lot of angry people all over the country. I travel a lot all over Belize and everywhere I go I sense tension and anger and witness it on more occasions than I am comfortable with.
These two people do not need to give life to anything much less a child. This unborn baby is already marked as one of the future street children. There again she had sex is pregnant no job just sit around and play card, fight, burn down houses and God knows what else. Good chance this baby will be a drug baby or an alcohol addicted fetus. What is going on with the women of Belize.
CRAZY IN LOVE……………..

BZNinCALI: Well said! I agree 100%.
22 years old need to be finishing her education and thinking of a career not being pregnant. Saying that, there’s nothing wrong being pregnant at 22 years if you’re mature, and in a committed and responsible relationship.
I hate to think when the baby comes along, and they have a fight what she’d do to the child. They don’t seem to understand that the crime of arson could have also led to people losing their lives, if the fire got out of control and spread. Grow up both of you!
