Usher out; will Mai replace him as P.U.P. Sec. Gen?
In political news, sources in the People’s United Party report that the party’s secretary general Henry Charles Usher, will be leaving his post in the very near future. Usher, who was closely aligned with the unsuccessful campaign of Francis Fonseca for the party’s leadership, is believed to be planning a run for the House of Representatives in the Fort George Division. As for who will be taking Usher’s place on Queen Street, the choice of P.U.P. leader Johnny Briceño appears to be former ambassador and Foreign Affairs C.E.O. Amalia Mai. This evening Mai told News Five that discussions have taken place but nothing has been decided.
