Basilio Mes is People’s National Party’s new candidate
Two individuals who are in a fighting spirit are from the People’s National Party. The P.N.P. is a Toledo based political party that is gaining ground in the south. Today happens to be the anniversary of the organization and its founder and candidate for Toledo East came by News Five to introduce the new addition to his party. The new politician, Basilio Mes, who is running for Stann Creek West, said that people are tired of the lame promises of the red and blue parties.

“The P.N.P. is the People’s National Party and today, the eighteenth of February is our anniversary. As you will know we were first launched four years ago in the mayan Mountains in the Toledo District. Since that time, we have continued to build on our party and today which marks our fourth anniversary, we want to announce our candidate for Stann Creek West. The candidate will be Basilio Mes.”

“I’m from Independence so that probably makes me want to run for Stann Creek West. Again like what I’ve been telling the other news media, is that we need more job creation in the area and I think that I am the right person for that. The last two parties have came gone and have done nothing for the area and that is the reason why I am under the P.N.P. right now.”

“Do you feel that as the third party that is the best thing to do? People usually say you are either red or blue, if you are a third party you won’t win. Why P.N.P.?”

“I think the people of theis country are tired and fed up with the two major parties—both the U.D.P. and the P.U.P. and I have been asked several times to run and I think that going with the P.N.P.; yes it is a young party but we are moving along like what our party leader just mentioned. That we are growing and we are growing rapidly and I think that that’s the reason why I joined the P.N.P.”
The P.N.P. has two candidates so far, but the party intends to announce new candidates as the timeline to the next general elections draws near.

Its a good idea to start a new party,a new movement,this new movement should bar lawyers from joining this new movement,no lawyers as politicians,the tiny country of belize is in deep…..because of crooked lawyers, as ministers,buntch of criminals with a alw degree.

Wouldn’t say that the last two parties have done nothing for the area, but they could have done a better job. They have done lots of things for us, some good, many bad, and many under the table nonsense, etc. Let’s hope that the PNP can do a better job and give us the respect we demand and deserve.

This is an idea who’s time has come, the UDP & PUP has taken the Belizean populace for granted for way too long. Belizeans need to wise up to this idea and get onboard with the PNP. They do not have much to lose, nothing beats a trial, but a failure, and in the event the PNP fails this should be a learning experience. Belizeans stop voting RED & Blue vote for Leadership. Since the Hon. George Price there has been an extremely serious leadership crisis in Belize. Perhaps Wil has the cohones to Lead.
Basilio Mes you should pay all your bills before you do such of things, and don’t be called mal pago.
I am a Belizean living in the USA and always be thinking of some way to make a change for my country. Having a third party coming up is a great idea. There has to be a change in the entire government because from both the other sides, the leaders might be different but the administration is the same because they are just following the footstepsof their former leaders.
I would like to know more about this new party because I would definately like to be a part of if it.
