Khadisha Saragossa, 16 years, missing for over a month

Khadisha Saragossa

A sixteen year old student gone without a trace for over a month; it’s a parent’s worst nightmare and it is exactly the situation that the family of Khadisha Saragosa is facing. There have been numerous tips that the teen has been spotted in Belize City, Placencia and more recently in Cayo. And though all the leads have proved fruitless, the family remains hopeful that the high school student is alive and well. News Five has spoken to Khadisha’s mother, Andrea Saragossa and her grandmother Angelina Allen, about the search for the missing teen. Today we caught up with her father, Ian Pelayo, who followed the last lead to the Cayo District.

“Sometime day before yesterday I got information from a friend that she was seen in Ontario in the company of a Hispanic person. I went to the Belmopan police station yesterday and with their aid I went to Ontario. When we checked there the mother or a relative of the person informed us that there was a girl there—she was not sure of her correct name or full name—who she said was from Corozal. The person had an argument with the Hispanic person and left the morning. So I’m still not sure or positive if it was Kadisha. I want to believe that she is alive and okay, but I would really like or appreciate the public’s help, the media’s help. I know this is a big help for us and everybody will see and know that we are still looking for her, we haven’t given up on her. And if she is seeing this then I would appreciate very much if she could at least call and let somebody know that she is okay; she is alive. I believe the mom is raising some funds and we ask the help—through this medium we ask the help of the public to assist her with some donations. She’s trying to raise a reward fund for information leading to Kadisha’s safe return or the safe finding of Kadisha.”

“Do you think that she would have run away from home?”

Ian Pelayo

“At this point I don’t know what to believe. I would want to put myself to thinking on that side and she is safe and maybe was tired of something she was facing at home or some problem she had; I’m not sure. But I would hope that if she did, she knew that she could always come to me. I have always advised and talked to her; even the mom.”

Anyone who has information on Khadisha’s whereabouts or is interested in assisting with reward fund can contact Andrea Saragossa at 661-4209. Khadisha is of Spanish descent, weighs about one hundred and thirty-five pounds and was last seen wearing yellow skinny jeans, a black blouse and black sandals.

  1. Disgusted! says:

I sincerely sympathize with the mother and extended family of this child but as far as the father is conxerned, he must bear in mind the agonies many people suffered at his hands when he was a cop. This animal was one of the most brutalizing ……….. in the police force. Retribution is a #!t(h! The sins of the parent have fallen upon the child!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
