Two Belize City residents charged for beating student over gun
In other news from the courts, today the man accused of entering a student’s home, beating him and then chopping him with a machete was formally charged for the crime. Twenty-seven year old Steven Lemoine pled not guilty to Aggravated Burglary, Conspiracy to Commit Burglary and Wounding. Magistrate Sharon Fraser denied him bail and ordered him remanded to Hattieville Prison. Also charged in connection to the same incident was twenty-two year old Vanessa Bodden, the live-in girlfriend of Belize City’s last murder victim, Christino Madrill. Bodden is accused of Conspiracy to Commit Aggravated Burglary. She was granted and met bail of five thousand dollars. Both Lemoine and Bodden are to reappear in court on May twenty-eighth. According to the victim, twenty-three year old Ornel Sosa, on Wednesday afternoon a group of four men and three women attacked him as they questioned him about a gun that had been thrown into his yard on Tuesday. The whereabouts of that weapon are still unknown.
