Former cop, Guatemalan busted w/bucket of cocaine
Police were in the right place at the right time on Sunday afternoon to make a significant drug bust along the Stann Creek Valley road. According to Dangriga police, a mobile patrol was near mile six when officers spotted a silver Isuzu Trooper emerging from a farm road. The cops say when they searched the SUV they found a grey bucket of suspected cocaine which weighed in at a whopping thirteen point nine kilos or just over thirty pounds. The occupants of the car, twenty-seven year old car dealer and former police officer Cyril Loague and thirty-two year old Guatemalan Henry Quinteros, were immediately arrested and have since been charged with Drug Trafficking.
Meanwhile in Belize City, a car washer is in plenty of hot water tonight after he was busted with a lot more than a bucket and rag. According to court reports, when police stopped and searched thirty-five year old Andrew August on George Street, they found a small bag of marijuana hidden in his mouth and a pen gun, loaded with a twenty-two calibre bullet, in his knapsack. August pleaded guilty to all three offences and Chief Magistrate Margaret McKenzie fined him a total of twenty thousand dollars for Possession of the Unlicensed Gun and Ammunition as well as another eight hundred bucks for the weed. He was ordered to pay nine hundred dollars immediately but he couldn’t cough up the cash so August will spend the next year behind bars.
