…And principal vows to implement measures to prevent attacks
School Principal, Suzette Arzu, says the school will take measures to prevent further attacks.
Suzette Arzu, Principal, Holy Redeemer Primary
“We’re making sure that the gates are locked at all times, even more now. We will be sending out notes to the parents and asking them to pick up their kids by four o’clock every day because when this incident occurred we had quite a number of children still on the campus. We have little ones and parents send people to get them and people from all walks of life are on our compound everyday. So we’ll have to be a little more vigilant, we’ll have the school wardens looking out some more and we will be leaving school a little earlier. Something has to be done, when you are at work and you’re not safe anymore, we need to get something done quickly, probably more patrols, we need probably policemen on our compounds now. Something needs to be done and quickly.”
This was not the first time that Holy Redeemer was targeted. Two years ago another teacher was attacked while heading to class in the morning.
