Hit and Run on Western Highway
There was a hit and run on the Western Highway on Monday night and the victim did not survive. Police received the call at around ten o’clock and arrived at the scene between miles two and three on the Western Highway to find thirty-five year old construction worker, Harris Fred Flores, already dead. It is reported that Flores was riding his bicycle on the highway when he was knocked down by a vehicle that continued on its way, leaving him to die on the roadside. Flores, who suffered a large cut wound on the head and other injuries on the hands, was taken to the K.H.M.H. where he was pronounced dead on arrival. Neither the driver nor the vehicle have been located.

Really cold and sad. Hope the driver has a conscience and it makes him turn himself in.
I have said it over a nd over again. the highways from Burdon canal and Haulover Bridge to the city are KILLING FIELDS. the city has grown in the last 30 years to include all these areas, but the traffic laws have not been adjusted. nowhere in the US will you have people living next to a freeway without a barrier or a feeder road for cyclists of pedestrians. ONLY IN BELIZE. can the police provide the number of persons killed in this particular area over the last 10 years, the figure will blow your mind. it is not too late. finish the four lane to Haulover and create more overpasses and create feeder roads on the western highway since they have more space for now. if we do nothing more people will be killed and it might just be someone closer next time for we all use these roads.
I wonder if the vehicle is a New GOB SUV????????
wh!! WHY!!
