Tropic announces aircraft upgrades

Story PictureIn other aviation news, Tropic Air has announced a major initiative with plane maker Cessna to expand and replace its current fleet of aircraft. Tropic presently operates seven of the popular Caravan single engine turboprops and will gradually replace them with an upgraded version featuring improved avionics. The new planes, which cost just under two million U.S. dollars each, should improve safety. The purchase of up to eleven aircrafts will be financed by Cessna, whose officials met recently with Tropic president Johnny Grief and C.E.O. Steve Shulte.
