2 men charged for murders of Chinese women
There were four murders that occurred over the weekend. Two of the victims were women, who were shot at their grocery stores. The Chinese Association has been vocal with a protest staged on Monday in front of the courthouse that marched across the swing bridge to the police station. Their fury and indignation at the senseless murders was also trumpeted by displaying caskets for the victims and imposing a shutdown of Chinese businesses. Across the country shops and predominantly restaurants were closed. This afternoon the cops charged two men for the murders of Yan Ying Chen and Fei Lan Wu.

Immediately following the murder on King Street, police detained a group of young men with a firearm we believed used in the orchestration of that crime. We have since arrested and charged Jordan Cayetano—first he was charged jointly with three others for possession of kept unlicensed firearm and ammunition. And now he is charged for the murder of the Chinese national that took place at number 78 King Street. He was arraigned today in front of magistrate’s court.”

“Other than that national, there’s also from Faber’s Road, Fei Lan Wu—the thirty-six year old Chinese national who was also murdered over the weekend.”

“Well Jose, they had no permit and as a matter of fact, for the most part, there procession was peaceful. I must applaud my police officers for handling a situation where we knew that emotions were really high. The Chinese national, not only the Chinese national, but I think Belizeans on a whole—any law abiding citizens—would be upset of the entire crime situation and they just found that that was their way to express themselves publicly. But as far as I know, their protest went without any major incident.”
I hope we can speed up their trials & get this behind us. But as I look at their pictures, I believe I read yesterday that Cayetano is 18 or 19. Who or what extinguished the light in his eyes, this child’s eyes are dead, administering the death penalty, if he is found guilty will probably be a favor to him.

They should be placed in a ring and stoned to death like in the olden days. hanging might be too tame as it is not painful enough. It sis not only the Chinese community problem, it is a Belizean problem and if they are set free any good Belizean should rid the earth of these scums! Why can’t there be a campaign to identify these repeat offenders – sort of a Belizean most wanted except this would be Belizean Criminal Round-up. Expose these people so that the public is aware. A lot of these young men have had long rap sheets. The police know who these people are. Wouldn’t it be beneficial to the public to know if they see these people around they can more than likely expect some trouble? The community is already living in fear why not equip them with knowledge?
This campaign could be as simple as putting up information (including distinguishing marks/characteristics, aliases) about these criminals on the Police website (or some other website). Put this information up there when these criminals are let loose because witnesses are afraid, the criminals were let out of jail, the case was thrown out for technicalities of they meet a criteria (such as being a repeat offender). Consideration should also be given to expose minors who commit violent crimes. If they have committed crimes for which they are accused and can be treated as adults they should be exposed as well.
The goal is simply to educate the public and make them aware and not live in fear. Know how to equip themselves and avoid dangerous people.

What happened to these two boys who look as if thou they should be in college building a future. Cayetano, has this innocent chillike face. This boy look like he could have been anything he wanted to be, too sad he chose the wrong path. So sad because in these gangs no one wins. These kids needs to be debriefed to change this gang mentality. If they form a gang to do something positive they would be so much further ahead.
It is a fact that 90% of the murders are done in the belize city,yet it is here that the PUP & UDP mafia(AKA LAW FIRMS) invest and shower the CITY with everything ,good basket ball courts,millions spend on the culture center,and so on,and so on,its like those 2 criminal organizations AKA PUP& UDP shower the criminals of belize city for bad behaivor.in a country its the CAPITAL that has the best of everything,but in tiny belize its the riverse.
Let the Chinese association deal with this one in anyway they see fit to get justice. And let anyone who gets in their way suffer the same fate!!! It is sad and shameful to see my Belizean brothers and sisters killing both their family and friends for an old beef. Now they have started to target the foriengners also. What will the PM do about it; other than just shoot hot air. If that was a group of Kruffy protesting the murder of their love ones without without a permit the “$#!% WOULD HAVE HIT THE FAN.” The protesters would have been arrested and haul off to jail.

The economy of Belize is already bad … and yet the gruesome killing of the Chinese women… Why the Chinese people?! The Chinese have been racist by some of the uncivilized ppl and have been judged constantly by those who think that they are better than any other race…. and still, they endure the prejudice… just to make a living… like each 1 of us.. Some Belizeans are too naive to think that foreigners like Hispanic, Indian and Chinese people are just here to MAKE ALL THE MONEY from their country.. This is so untrue.. I am really glad to see these two detained and most assuredly I know that justice will be served for these two Belizean-Chinese women. But I want us to realize what is going on here.
