Philloughby won’t run for Mayor; will Cardona sit by the mace bearer?
Earlier we told you what’s in store for the Mayor, so what else is new in the U.D.P.? Not much, at least for Orange Walk East Representative, Marcel Cardona, who the U.D.P. Chairman Patrick Faber wrote only last week to inform that his actions dating back to the past six months had constituted a quote “constructive resignation” unquote. We asked the minister to give us an update on Cardona as well as on Councilor Philip Willoughby, who had once shown interest in the mayoral post for the upcoming municipal elections.
Patrick Faber, Chairman, U.D.P.
“We still consider him to be not any longer a part of the United Democratic party and as to the question of where he will sit when he goes back to the House, it is really a matter of the Speaker to determine. But we have certainly indicated to the Speaker that we don’t consider him to be a member of our great United Democratic party and that we are asking for him not to be placed along with the other regular members of our party.”
Marion Ali
“He has responded to your letter.”
Patrick Faber
“Yes, he has to say that he has not resigned from the party, but that is neither here nor there to us. His actions certainly put him in a position where he has demonstrated that he does not wish to be a part of our party and we could—like I indicated to one media house—go down to the specifics: for instance his nonattendance to the National Party Council meetings would allow the party to say he is no longer a member of the N.P.C.; his inactivity in several other areas as it relates to his duties as a parliamentarian could also disqualify him from other things but why go through all of that trouble? Why can’t we just deem his actions as they have been demonstrated to be his resignations, his constructive resignation from the Party?”
Marion Ali
“And lastly, Philip Willoughby. I think he had indicated that he was interested in running for the post of Mayor. What’s the latest on that?”
Patrick Faber
“Philip has agreed to contest as a Councilor Candidate. He has graciously given way for Mister Darrel Bradley. So at the close of the application period on the 1st of April, he withdrew his application for the position of Mayor and submitted it for the position of councilor. So he will now be a Council applicant or candidate in the convention coming up at the end of August.”
Marion Ali
“And Darrel Bradley is uncontested?”
Patrick Faber
“Uncontested so I believe it can be pronounced official that he, Darrel Bradley, is the United Democratic Party’s Mayoral candidate here in Belize City.”
So it means that at least for now, Willoughby will not be aspiring for the mayoral post.
Willoughby Filloughby was a FAKE all the while…..
Get 2 d back STUPID!!!!!!
Zeneida they will need you yet! Check after all the votes are counted!
The UDP have this dude Willoughby like a puppet.
PHILLIP WILLOUGHBY= @$$HOLE PERSONIFIED STUCK ON STUPID!!!
How can Cardona be removed from the UDP. I don’t understand this. He is an elected official.
If someone speaks out against the actions of their party they are to be banished. He remains in office. He was elected UDP. This makes no sense at all.
I must complement Mr. Willoughby …………..ON ATTEMPTING TO DRESS LIKE A PROFESSIONAL.
Now he needs to keep the shirts close to white OR CLOSE TO WHITE, not party colours.
He could be a good public servant……..HE HAS POTENTIAL.
this UDP government is a waste of time, they have betrayed the Belizean people, and phillip willouby will just be used as another puppet like patric faber by the PUPPET MASTER DEAN BARROW’.
don’t think i will vote if Zenaida don’t run as mayor. i agree with CEO, Zenaida they will need you yet!
