In other diplomatic news, the government announced today that publisher of the Reporter newspaper, Harry Lawrence, is being named as Ambassador to the Holy See. Lawrence is expected to present credentials to the Vatican in Rome on May twenty-sixth. A devout catholic, Lawrence will succeed the late Oscar Ayuso to the post and as is customary, the ambassador will be resident in Belize.
Congratulations Mr Lawrence, excellent appointee. May God continue to bless you and your family.

Very proud of my fellow Belizean. Mr Harry Lawrence will make a very good ambassador to the Holy See. He is the perfect ambassador for anything to do with Belize, with qualities of intellegence, empathy, and a good sense of humour he will uphold all the values of our nation.

Why in the world would Belize need an ambassador to Rome, The Holy See. To see (no pun intended) if we can get a connection to God to stop the kiliings? A waste of money better spent on the poor in Belize than a vacation for Mr. Lawrence and to validate the simidimi of the papacy.

I have known Harry Lawrence since I was a lad growing up in Belize,until hurricane hattie and he has allways been a perfect example of all things good as a decent christian human being.
I would like to congratulate him on his appointment and wish him all the best for the future.
