Ministry of Transport re-routes Northern Highway buses

The Ministry of Transport is implementing a new regulation in respected of tinted vehicle windows, beginning June first. That ministry is also putting in place new bus routes to come on line in the northern zone, effective May first. The routes would have been implemented in 2009, but the now defunct National Transport Limited had secured an injunction to put the changes on hold. But the court set aside that injunction on February seventh and the ministry has been meeting with bus operators on the runs, which will include villages and are expected to relieve the problem of overcrowding. The revised schedules are being posted inside buses and at designated stops.
