Several Illegal guns and ammunition taken off the streets
Earlier we told you about a raid at the house of James Swan Senior, where police found a stash of weed and a firearm magazine. In other searches throughout the old capital, the Gang Suppression Unit has been successful in removing several illegal weapons off the streets. On Friday, we reported that several firearms and stolen items were recovered in a raid on Flamboyant Street; those included a point thirty-eight special revolver loaded with two live rounds of ammunition. Nineteen year old Erson Andrews, twenty-nine year old Jenny Lewis and a minor—only twelve years old—have been arrested and charged with Kept Unlicensed Firearm and Kept Unlicensed Ammunition following that bust. A twenty-five year old Fernando Middleton unemployed man is facing similar charges after he was searched on Jane Usher Boulevard. Middleton was also in possession of a point thirty-eight revolver along with nine bullets when he was met by police on mobile patrol in his neighborhood.
And on Sunday, a nine millimeter Astra Brand Pistol with fifteen live rounds of ammunition, a point thirty-eight revolver with four rounds of ammo and a small amount of cannabis were discovered when police searched the home of mechanic, Brian Thompson. He was arrested along with Emmerson Skyers, Brent Garoy and Nikita Jones, who were also present when the search was conducted. All four were charged for Kept Firearm without a Gun License, Kept Ammunition without a Gun License and Possession of Controlled Drugs.
Several Illegal guns and ammunition taken off the streets…………………………….PRAISE THE LORD!!!!!!
I FEEL A LITTLE SAFER.
Kudos to our GSU and Police Force, however, your work has only just begun. Intelligence gathering pays of, now the DPP and it’s staff must make every effort to secure a rapid and swift indictment/conviction leading up to some stringent time in prison for all of the offenders. This is absolutely necessary to send a very strong message to all of the involved parties that his kind of criminal attitude and behavior will not be tolerated.
Now how hard could this be? is something that should have happened long time ago and it should not stop until all the illegal guns are off the street and and all the criminals are behind bars. I think that the police should do some of these at night also when these criminals are sleeping so they could have some sleepless nights and think that it could happen anytime, just hope this is not going to be for only a little while just to passify the people. Remember, My Legacy B 4 My People.
Finally we are getting positive results and this is only so because the GSU operates under the COMPOL only and no one else…So no crooked cop can deviate their targeted homes or intelligence gathering… Eastern division is obviously full of curropt cops cause they never get results, THE GSU HAS DONE MORE IN ONE WEEKEND THAN EASTERN DIVISION DOES IN TWO WHOLE MONTHS…
Keep the pressure on and get these illegal firearm off the streets of Belize…
Good work Belize PD.However wee need to find out who the suppliers are?
What about doing a little more than supressing crime? Hey set the bar a little higher; change their name to crime “elimination” unit!
Great job guys, keep it up.
