Contraband beer at La Isla Bonita
On Sunday evening, a vessel was intercepted in San Pedro carrying a quantity of contraband liquor. The authorities are keeping tightlipped about the incident but there is a reliable report that three persons on the boat were returning from Xcalak after dropping off artists who had performed at a fundraiser for a local preschool on Saturday night. The men were reportedly surprised with a quantity of contraband Mexican beer for which the Customs Department and Police were called in. The persons are expected to be fined three times the value of the contraband items.
WE NEED more THAN ONE LOCAL BEER…………people wan to drink something different sometimes.
yes we belizeans want to drink something different sometimes some mexican and American beers should be imported legally and sold legally here in Belize…
I completely agree with Earl. People get tired of drinking the same beer over and over again. Enough with the Belikin Monopoly.
It is Unfortunate that people that do not have money to pay their names will be given without hesitation yet if you have the money and influence your names will be protected by all means.
We all know the person that were detained for not following the law!!!!!
Do you know what we call the local beer out HERE IN SAN PEDRO?????
You would not want to drink it either…………………..
yes we need a variety of beers for our contry, am i tired of drinking just red stripe and belikin. It is time to bring new beers
I thought for sure I’d seen American beer (Budweiser)
for sale in some places in Belize. As a general
statement American beer (Bud, Coors, Miller etc.)
are no better than Belikin. Some of the smaller
breweries from the West Coast are a bit better.
Few of the major brands from the USA can say
that though.
