4 weeks to announcement of FIBA decision on team Belize

The silver trophy is safely in the hands of the Belize National Basketball Team after their spectacular performance in the COCABA games in which they beat the other Central American teams and held the Mexicans at bay until the last seconds of a gripping game. But in Switzerland today, a hearing was held on the heritage of some members of the team by FIBA. This morning, News Five spoke with the Secretary General of the Basketball Federation, Julian Murillo, who said that the federation and its legal representative, Godfrey Smith, are cautiously optimistic about the outcome of the hearing in which he explained the nature of Belizean citizenship by dissent. A decision is expected to be announced in four weeks time.
