Drug plane that landed on Highway was stolen from Honduran Military

The biggest drug bust in Belize was recorded in November last year when a twin-engine Beechcraft Super King Air 200 plane landed on the Southern highway laden with Colombian cocaine; all of two point six tons of the white stuff with a value of a whopping one hundred and forty million Belize dollars. The plane could not take off because its wings were clipped as it flew over the Bladen Reserve. Five police officers and a Customs boatman were linked to the drug plane but their case is still before the courts. At the time, our investigations led to a similar stolen plane from the Honduras army. We bring back this report because it has bearing five months after the bust. A report called “Drug gangs muscle into new territory: Central America” published over the Easter weekend says the stolen Honduran plane was in fact the aircraft that transported the drugs to Belize. According to the report, the Beechcraft was stolen at the Armando Escalon airbase in San Pedro Sula on the night of November seventh. The plane headed toward Venezuela and was used in narco-trafficking activities. The report speaks to the drug trade in the region and how drug cartels have infiltrated governments, the police and militaries. It says Honduras has become a staging ground for narco-traffickers who are also operating with relative ease in Guatemala and San Salvador. The last we heard of the plane is that it is in custody of the BDF. The full text of the article can seen at channel5belize.com.

Stolen from the Honduran military, or borrowed?

  3. D-Power says:

    Gustav…I’m with you.

Research has shown that military and government officials have been and are implicit in conducting drug trafficking. You think Manuel Noriega was doing what he was doing solo. We are living in age where information is readily available. The real crooks are never in the ghetto and rarely caught, they just mysteriously die or commit suicide.

Preliminary inquires conducted Belize is a small country and drug cartels use our land as transhipment route cause they well know that our leaders in power and the police well know what is good for them mean while the poor suffered good bye Beech craft plane cause Honduras say they belongs to them . Borrow Good Manuel Noriega will soon invite Dean to Honduras to share the pie .

  5. BZNinCALI says:

Gustav, I have to agree with you. Every military base has some form of security. This raises another question, was the plane taken from PG International a replacement for this one that crashed & since the this plane belongs to the Honduran Army, when did they decide that it was stolen? Was it before or after the crash & are we obligated to return it?.

  6. Ziberio says:

This is stale news, please read La Prensa from Honduras, Guatemala & Nicaragua, these will trace everything; Do you know that it was two (02) airplanes that landed in Belize in that point??It was a small plane and the Beech Craft; Why is it that the pilots were NEVER found; they took off on the smaller plane BUT they needed fuel, so they were caught in Nicaragua, while refueling their craft……….ALL OF THIS INFORMATION IS FOUND ON THIS NET……….

  7. Elgin Martinez says:

Why is it that it took our investigators so long to find out that this aircraft was the property of the Honduran Military. This definately smell like fish.

  8. D-Power says:

There are many well documented cases of military along with assistance from other government entities and countries trafficking drugs. Just for starters research Iran/Contra or Freeway Ricky Ross.

  9. Drama says:

Does anyone think the people caught with this plane can afford to buy the quantity of drugs that was on the plane? Why not question the policemen who are they working for? Did they dust the plane for fingerprints, footprints, palmprints or hairsamples around the plane? Are the culprits brought to the police station every so often and interrogated? What the !^!% is taking them so long to act on this matter?

  10. awrk says:

i think our belizean leaders most have told the hunduran army to report it stolen and in a few more days we will hear that belize handed the plane over to hunduras because it was stolen from them
