Mom appeals for info on missing son
Tonight a Belize City family is offering a reward of one thousand dollars for information on the whereabouts of a teenager reported missing a week ago. Seventeen year old Anthony Joshua Roches was last seen around eight last Wednesday night, riding the handle bars of a friend’s bike and heading towards a home off Mahogany Street. He was wearing a red, white and black polo shirt, dark three quarter pants and red and white Jordan tennis shoes. The young man has had runs-in with both the law and his peers before but on the day he disappeared, he was in his own neighbourhood, and supposedly safe from harm. This afternoon his mother Agnes Nunez appealed to the public to help her bring her son home.

“If they have him in a state, I hope they are not torturing him or drugging him up that he can’t know himself so they can release him to come back. And if he’s dead already, we need to know something so my heart can rest. I’m his mother and like any mother, when I see other mothers crying, I cried with them too cause I know one day my turn was going to come. So I am asking the general public whosoever know anything about Anthony Josue Roches disappearance, to please let them help with the police so we can get this thing done with, the family can rest, because it’s not only me alone crying, it’s the whole neighbourhood. I have sisters in the states, my mother still alive, his father is still alive, so if they torture him and they kill him, let one of them come up and say something so we can finally be at rest, the whole entire family and the community as well. He’s well known in this neighbourhood because he grew up in St. Martin’s. If he would have gone over to Yabra and he would have been abducted from there, that would have been something else different but he was just one step away from his house.”

“ Josue is a kind-hearted person although he always go ‘bout you could seh Josue go bout Josue would ah come back. Everybody know Josue as a sweet person when Josue deh pan the street. When Josue go ‘bout Josue wah hail everybody although the person no hail ah, Josue wah always hail the person. But you could really seh Josue is a kind hearted person because Josue always help out when they in need.”
If you have any information on the whereabouts of Anthony Roches, please contact his family at 202-0300, Crimestoppers or the nearest police station. While police have detained several persons for questioning, no one has provided investigators with clues to find the missing teen.
