Apartment No. 7 at Long Barracks up in smoke
There was a fire last night in Belize City. It occurred after eight p.m. on Amara Avenue and luckily no one was hurt. The blaze allegedly started from the rear of apartment number seven in the barracks behind St. Ignatius Primary School. The National Fire Service was called to the area to assist in outing the blaze but all was lost. There were six occupants; three adults and three school aged children that now have to find a new place to live. One of the minors is in high school and is sitting exams. News Five spoke to one of the occupants who said that the family is unscathed but they are not ready to speak publically about the incident. The Fire Department has not issued a statement regarding the probable cause of the fire.
