P.U.P. agrees to release delegates list

The P.U.P. however, has been more forthcoming on the issue of the selection of a new leader. According to the party secretariat, they have not only agreed to circulate the delegate list in advance of the convention, but will do so on March fourteenth, over two weeks before the gathering. That convention will begin at ten a.m. and will be held either in Belmopan or the Novelo’s Convention Center in the twin towns of San Ignacio/Santa Elena. Returning officer for the election will be Secretary General Henry Charles Usher and each of the three candidates will be allowed one scrutineer. Those candidates are Francis Fonseca, Johnny Briceño and Mark Espat, although it is expected that either Briceño or Espat will withdraw in support of the other or somehow work in tandem against Fonseca. As for the question of how many delegates will attend the convention, that will be decided by the National Party Council at a meeting set for March twelfth.
