Still no explanation of Venezuelan deal
The financial secretary is still waiting for a letter from the Venezuelan government to clear up what thus far amounts to a ten million dollar mystery. Despite a press release issued today which chides the new government for “playing political games”, leaders of the defeated P.U.P. administration have yet to offer an explanation as to why the Venezuelans say they gave Belize twenty million U.S. dollars but the Central Bank only received ten.
