San Pedro businessman found dead in his yard
On Friday he was featured in the San Pedro Sun as one the island’s up and coming businessmen but tonight twenty-six year old Rafael Canti is dead. According to investigators, the manager of the newly established Segway of Belize Company was killed by a long, sharp object, quite possibly an ice pick, which penetrated his heart. San Pedro police have not yet established how or where Canti was killed but it appears he was socialising at local bars all night on Friday but got into a fight with another man at a nightclub. It is believed Canti was stabbed during the brawl and he staggered home. Police found his body around five on Saturday morning lying face down in his yard in the San Pablo area with a small stab wound to the chest. Today Officer Commanding the San Pedro Police Station, Assistant Superintendent Dennis Arnold told News Five that they are following leads and are looking for two suspects. In other crime news from the caye, police still have no clue as to who fatally shot thirty-six year old Alvaro Galvez on February twelfth at his home on Lagoon Street.
