… While Musa denies he’s supporting Francis Fonseca
In related news the People’s United Party has taken issue with a report made on this newscast last night stating that the candidacy of Francis Fonseca for the post of party leader was being supported by former prime minister and outgoing P.U.P. leader Said Musa. The party Secretary General today pointed out that Musa has not publicly supported any of the prospective candidates and indeed, this is correct. It should be noted, however, that our intent was not to convey the impression that the former P.M. had given any public support to Fonseca, rather that sources in the party tell us that despite his public stance of neutrality, Musa is working behind the scenes to promote Fonseca’s campaign to succeed him. The P.U.P. national convention will be held on March thirtieth.
