O.W. murder suspect turns himself in
A man wanted for questioning over last week’s double murder of Jose Ricalde and Nazim Romero and the shooting of Noe Perez has turned himself in to police. Luis Cardenas visited the Orange Walk Police Station on Friday and police have already charged him with two counts of Robbery for crimes which occurred in that town several months ago. But police also believe Cardenas was the man who went to the home of Alfredo Urbina on Royal Palm Street last Wednesday night and opened fire, killing Ricalde and Romero and wounding Perez. Urbina was not at home at the time but police are now looking for him and Ronaldo Marchand, whom they feel had a hand in the disappearance of Alden Hall, a friend of Cardenas. Police theorise that Cardenas shot the three men in retaliation against Urbina and his colleagues who allegedly kidnapped Hall. Police investigations reveal that the men, using Urbina’s car, picked up Hall on the Northern Highway road the day before the shooting. Hall has not been seen or heard from since, and police would not say if they believe he is dead. The entire series of crimes allegedly revolves around the drug trade.
