Cop shot in the leg in Punta Gorda

David Griffith

Police Constable David Griffith, he’s the officer who was in the middle of a controversy following the death of Teddy Murillo a little over a year ago. Well on Friday night he was shot in the leg in Punta Gorda Town where he’s been stationed since the Murrillo killing. But tonight police say that investigations have been slow because details of the incident that Griffith gave them just aren’t adding up.

Sergeant Victorin Tun, Punta Gorda Police

“Yes we have a report here made by P.C 192 David Griffiths, he reported that around seven thirty p.m on the thirteenth day of May 2011 he was walking on Frank Street when he reached in front of Bamboo Chicken Restaurant and Bar where he felt a burning sensation on his left foot he realized he got shot. He was taken to the hospital and Sergeant 241 Chun who’s in charge of the investigation  he visited the hospital where he saw Griffith suffering from a gun shot wound. Investigation so far is very, is showing contrary to the report made right.”

Andrea Polanco

“What do you mean it’s showing contrary Sergeant?”

Sgt. Victorin Tun

“Umm he had made a report that but umm the investigation is still going on, I could say it’s not the way it’s reported nuh.”

Andrea Polanco

“So you say investigations are still ongoing, has it been determined who shot Mr. Griffith?”

Sgt. Victorin Tun

“Yes ma’am, investigations are still ongoing at this moment and nobody has been detained at this moment.”

According to Punta Gorda police, Griffith has been released from the hospital and their investigation continues.

This @$$#@!# shoot himself to divert the attention from him, making it seem like someone is really after him. TRY SHOOT YOURSELF AGAIN DAVID Maybe you might hit the right spot next time.

  4. Elgin Martinez says:

Was David armed at the time of this incident?

  5. Curious says:

I personally dont believe that PC Griffith meant to kill Deacon Teddy Murillo. I believe he mistook him for his cousin Russell Dougal who was shot about a week ago. The two look very much alike and these dirty cops who moonlight as hit men, dont have night vision lens for the dark Belize city streets!

  6. BZNinCALI says:

Red Gyal Belize, great minds think alike, I think the man shot himself or had one of his buddies inflict a flesh wound, our criminals are not that considerate, they shoot to kill. Enjoy your sick days, I don’t think Danalyn will make that drive to PG to kick you in the other leg while you’re down.

  7. BlackWidow says:

I believe u Red Gyal. If it was a criminal this was just the warning shot. I say They should have shot the no good mother F….. in the head or his black heart. They should shoot all the no good cops and purge the Police force of them

  8. Francisco Patt says:

The same man that Kill Russel killed Teddy Murillo and everyone knows that it si not PC Grifith. But it is the same top brass of the Department that burn Grifith but one day all that is in the dark will come to light and all will realize that PC Grifith has been prosecuted innocently.
