God’s soldier, Dwight Warrior, killed on the way home

A day before the traffic fatality involving Ariel Rosado, there was another loss of life. Dwight Warrior was executed while he was in a van along with two friends. One bullet caught him in the head. His family and friends are at a loss as to who would want the young man dead. News Five’s Jose Sanchez reports on the City’s latest murder victim.

Twenty-one year old Dwight Warrior was shot and killed while he entered a blue Mitsubishi van being driven by one of his friends on Central American Boulevard.

“The gunman ride up and shot up the back of the van. And obviously dah he deh one, cause dah he deh shoot up in the head due to the fact that the shot stay behind ih eye ih couldn’t make it.”
Warrior’s mother, Anna, spent Friday in his company at home before he went out.

“The last time I saw him was Friday—ih stay with me whole day. When Friday evening, ih gone drop ih auntie and then when evening come ih gone drop his girlfriend. His friend meet him walking home and when he get in the van, as he get in, they just start to shoot up. By the time fi he friends deh say, duck Dwight, ih done get it in the head back already. So I just want tell anybody who know anything or see anything, ih noh fair mien because they take weh my innocent son’s life. Ih noh harm nobody, ih noh hurt nobody and they just shoot him in the head. All I got fi say, you noh get no justice ina Belize because why I di say that is as a parent, I very hurt/angry, because my son wasn’t a trouble maker. If he was a troublemaker, I coulda understand ih do someone something—then I could understand, but ah noh expect because ih noh got beef with nobody.”
The young Warrior, a man of God, spent much of his time attending the Adventist Church near the end of Freedom Street.

He is a bad person, he is a nice young man, loving. He personally with me, he loving I know ahn. All mi bredda and sista know him as one ncie person—neva ina gang, neva related with drugs nothing. He used to keep home, listen to my sister, weh dah ih ma, listen to ih father; just that ih happen this way. We woulda really want justice.”

The sad part is we neva get fi say nothing to ahn cause as he got the gunshot ina ih head, ih couldn’t talk, couldn’t move, couldn’t nothing. Who got a conscience fi weh do that, I hope they can live with themselves because ih noh fair mien. I di bawl from Friday, no eat, no drink—I noh do nothing, nothing. So ih noh fair mien. Right now, I noh think I could cry no more because ih really hurt me cause that dah mi oldest son and then he show example to rest of his brother and sister. So right now like how he noh deh round mien ih hard, ih hard.”
Warrior was the role model for his brothers and sisters. The family hopes there will be justice for the slain soldier of god. Reporting for News Five, Jose Sanchez.
Up to news time, no arrests have been made in the murder of the churchgoer.
And the carnage continues another young life gone to the crime infested city of Belize with this Impotent gov. Not being able to one thing for the crime situation.
Miss Anna, You have my deepest sympathies on your loss! I pray that God will give you and your family peace and know that God is with you always.

@ rod when ever there is a murder or crime it is the criminal who commits it. it is not PUP or UDP governemnts. It is normal citizens amongst us who kill people today and smile with you tomorrow as if they are so called “conscious” youths. This klling is shocking maybe this is a case of mistaken identity because this is not your typical victim this was a church man.
Let’s hope his death was not in vain & the laws they are talking about passing will make it easier for the witnesses in this case to tell the truth.
Correction, Hanz. I agree with all you said except that crimes are committed by normal citizens. I disagree strongly with that. People who commit these crimes are not normal…there is nothing normal about them. Normal people work for a living. Normal people are law abiding citizens.
Criminals can’t be considered normal citizens…they are ANIMALS.

This story really saddens me…My condolences to the family and friends of this young man…I hope his killer or killers are found..

My sincere condolences to the family. Have faith…God is real and He is a just God. Justice is not confined to only the courtroom. The courtroom setting probably accounts for less than 1% of what true justice is. Psalm 130:12 says “the LORD secures justice for the poor and upholds the cause of the needy”. May your heart be comforted.
