Cabinet waives medical expenses for law enforcement officers injured while on duty
In news from the Cabinet, we note that the Prime Minister is heading on Thursday to a Heads of CARICOM summit in Guyana. The Minister of Education, Patrick Faber and the Deputy Prime Minister, Gaspar Vega, will fill until the prime minister returns on May twenty-fourth. Cabinet today also endorsed a recommendation by Minister of Health Pablo Marin which will allow for the waiver of medical expenses incurred by law enforcement officers in the line of duty. The write-off extends to all government hospitals including the KHMH.
GOOD DEAL, A STEP IN THE RIGHT DIRECTION, BUT YOU WOULD HAVE THOUGHT THAT SOMETHING AS SIMPLE AS THAT WOULD HAVE BEEN IN EFFECT ALREADY.
I HOPE OUR MILITARY MEN/WOMEN ALREADY HAVE THIS IN PLACE
If medical costs for on the job injuries are covered by Social Security, would cops not already have their medical costs covered if they are hurt in the line of duty?
Law enforcement officers should have never been charged for injuries aquired on duty.Officers should have access to medical 24/7.What if an officer is attacked on his or her way home from duty would this law apply?
Sounds good. Well done.
BT, social security no paying nothing to nobody these days, but you are right cops and all workers have their medical costs covered, except for the military who are not covered by social security!! so this move is lone political crap….
medical costs covered for accidents on the job…..
