Que viva México, CONALEP Scholarships offered to Belizeans

Belize’s northern neighbor is extending higher education opportunities to over a dozen locals. México is offering fifteen scholarships at the various campuses of CONALEP University. According to the Press Officer at the Embassy of Mexico, prospective candidates can visit the Mexican Embassy or the Ministry of Education for more details about the opportunity.

“Mexico is offering fifteen scholarships for Belizean students at the CONALEP School—this is a technical degree school in México that has campuses across México. And there are different programs. There are programs like: health, tourism, information technology and other areas like electronics and electricity—those are very interesting programs—they have proven successful for previous occasions. These programs have been running for the past ten years and we have had more than a hundred and forty Belizeans students who have been to México and they have achieved the technical degree from México. And we are encouraging Belizeans students. This is a very good opportunity. They should contact either the Ministry of Education in Belize or the Embassy of México. The institute of México in Belize City is providing personalized attention for those who are interested in this scholarship program. As I said, there are fifteen scholarships available. They cover tuition fees, food expenses and obviously other expenses for the tenure of their studies.”

“Are there age requirements, must you have a specific knowledge of Spanish?”

“Yes, it is important to be at least seventeen years old, to be a Belizean resident and to have an intermediate level of Spanish.”
Miranda says there are other requirements, including documents that candidates must complete. More information can be obtained at the Embassy of Mexico.
You all at the Mexican Embassy can try looking into your Immigration Department at the Northern Border. You got a bunch of HUSTLERS running that department. Going across your border is the most tiresome process one can go through. To add insult to injury there are a couple of officers hustling money from people to get there documents processed speedily while others broil in the heat. They purposely take long processing each document so that “tourists” (Belizeans included) will give in to frustration and pay the “MORDIDA” that they ask. Everyone that has ever visited your country has been a victim at some time to police officers wanting MORDIDA (bribe) and now it has come to the border. If that is legal where is the receipting system for this “service.”
I do agree with the hustler at the Mexican immigration. They take forever to process a passport for Belizean to enter Mexico.
I would like to suggest to the Mexican Embassy to take to their Foreign Affair Office to grant the FMVL user 4 days instead of 3 day.
If you plan to visit Cancun, you will spend an entire day just on traveling and other day returning. Only one day will be spent there. IF THEY GRANT 4 DAY ON THE FMVL card Belizean can spend more days in Cancun.
And have you ever tried to register your car with the miserable lady at the counter? she wills end you walking way over the next side just for 1 photocopy-cant we donate one to the mexicans to help Belizeans? I know the Mexicans can do it but they will not as theory want to restrict Belizeans entry. BUY A PHOTOCOPIER_it will make things faster for you
When you see one (1) immigration officer, you see all no matter what country they work from. For those that aren’t hustling you, the rest treat you like dirt so to me its six (6 of one,half dozen of the next. Whether you have a visa, greencard or citizenship by naturalization, they still treat you like dirt just because you come from another country so its not just the Mexican immigration officers.
