Sergeant Sherwood Wade charged for possession of counterfeit currency

Sherwood Wade

A high ranking police officer was busted with alleged counterfeit notes on Wednesday while at a bank making a deposit. It’s a major bust because Sergeant Sherwood Wade is the head of the Police Special Branch. This afternoon, dressed in a guaberra, he was escorted to court and was formally arraigned for Possession of Counterfeit Currency. Wade, a thirty-eight year old Vista del Mar resident, pleaded not guilty to the charge and was granted bail of eight thousand dollars with the condition that he is to report to the clerk of court every Monday and Friday. Wade is being represented by Attorney Simeon Sampson and his case has been adjourned until August seventeenth. The cop was detained on Wednesday morning when he attempted to deposit one thousand, six hundred dollars at the north side branch of Belize Bank. Wade had sixteen US hundred dollar notes, which were suspected to be counterfeit and the bank alerted police. After questioning, Wade remained on active duty until he was formally charged today.

No one is this stupid, so I will wait & see if Sampson goes for insanity or come up with an even more creative defense like this prince was checking the bank’s security & efficiency.

Will the Teller from the Bank be subpeona to testify against Sergeant Wade?I guess this case is been adjourned until Wade can meet the witness to intimidate him or her so as not to appear in court.I believe that denying these guys bail would probably secure a conviction due to the fact that this would avoid them from having contact with the witness or witnesses prior to their court date.

what kind crap is that? this guy should not be able to still preform his security duty while he is being investigated. he should be on leave with pay until the investigation is over. What another big JOKE!!!!!!!!

Can this be the indication of a fast approaching fail state? Police officer killing other officer, Big drugs bust involving Police officers, and now this, plus other mist behavour by policer officers. But I’m very surprise of the amount of respondents to this situation, especially since I’ve been reading on this forum that the police officers are a part of the crime problem in the country. But again this could be a sting operation by the police to test the banking system. Can hardly get myself to believe that an officer at this rank can be so stupid or desperate.
