Lord’s Bank resident missing in river

The search for eighty-one year old Dalton Franklin, a resident of Lord’s Bank, who went missing on Monday afternoon, continued along the Belize River today.  Franklin, who was accompanied by four others, went on a short fishing trip upstream when the vessel he was traveling in suddenly capsized near the Burrell Boom area.  Franklin was the only one who did not resurface.  Sometime around three o’clock his eldest daughter received a call informing her of the incident.  Ladyville police were subsequently notified and a B.D.F. search team was deployed to the area.  After an hour the exercise was postponed until this afternoon when coastguard divers resumed their search.  At five o’clock this evening Franklin’s body had still not been recovered from the Belize River.
